Deborah Edgar

Deborah graduated with an LLB (Honours) Degree from the University of Strathclyde, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow. She thereafter trained in the litigation department of a reputable Glasgow firm, where she worked on a variety of litigation matters with exposure to a small number of criminal cases. Deborah’s traineeship was mainly focused on compensation claims for personal injury cases, including cases concerning historic child abuse, accidents at work and road traffic collisions.

 

Deborah joined 1st Legal in June 2021 and works predominantly in our Criminal Department, having always had the desire to practice as a criminal court lawyer.  She also assists with Mental Health and Child Law matters. Deborah has a varied legal background, having previously worked as a Legal Secretary for a number of years, prior to her studying at university. During her time as a Legal Secretary, Deborah worked on conveyancing, family law and criminal/regulatory matters. Out-with work, Deborah enjoys walking her boxer dog and spending time with friends and family.
